Whether the eggshell is in good condition has a great influence on the egg price. So what are the factors that affect the quality of eggshells?
In the same breed, the breakage rate of brown-shell eggs was slightly lower than that of white-shell eggs, and the breakage rate of pink-shell eggs was the lowest.
With the increase of chicken age, the egg weight also increases, but the egg shell becomes thinner and thinner, because the egg shell does not grow as fast as the egg content, so the egg breakage rate also increases.
When the temperature is higher than 31--32℃, the eggshell quality will decrease, the reasons are as follows:
(1) High temperature leads to a decrease in chicken feed intake (calcium).
(2) High temperature increases the respiration of chickens and discharges a large amount of carbon dioxide, resulting in insufficient calcium carbonate, the main raw material of eggshells.
(1) Egg collection problem: Due to too few egg collection times or unreasonable egg collection time arrangement, the laid eggs cannot be collected on time and the breakage rate is increased.
(2) The problem of the number of egg nests: Because the number of egg nests is too small, there are too many eggs on the ground and the breakage rate is increased.
(3) Vaccination: Vaccination during egg laying, due to the reaction of the flock to the vaccine, leads to a decrease in egg production, a decrease in eggshell quality, and an increase in the rate of egg breakage.
It is mainly the influence of calcium, phosphorus and vitamin D3: the absorption of calcium and phosphorus requires vitamin D3, so insufficient vitamin D3 affects the absorption of calcium and phosphorus; calcium and phosphorus deficiency; excess phosphorus will affect the absorption of calcium.
Chicken Newcastle disease, infectious bronchitis, mycoplasma, infectious laryngotracheitis, etc. will reduce the thickness of eggshells, the quality of eggshells, and the rate of egg breaking.
If the light time is too long and the hens move frequently, the calcification process of the eggshell will be affected and the egg breaking rate will increase.
When the slope of the bottom of the laying hen cage increases from 7 degrees to 11 degrees, the egg breaking rate increases, but if the slope is too small, the eggs are not easy to roll out, and the egg breaking rate is often stepped on by chickens.
